I Skoven

We spent 2 nights, 3 days over a weekend here. The green environment with fruit trees and secondary forest around the borders makes this campsite a great break from the concrete jungle of KL. It was about 1.5 hours drive for us. It was really rejuvenating for us, city slickers. Our group had 3 plots in the bamboo fenced area. The stream was close by as was the toilet/shower facilities. There was also a shaded area for washing and cooking if you wanted to use. Some points to be aware for future campers. 1. The last 500m to the campsite parking area is extremely challenging to drive with a normal car. You will scrape the bottom of your car, especially with the recent heavy rains, and washed out sections. Secret is to drive really really slow over those ruts, so that even if you scrap, it will not damage the bottom of your car. Our fully loaded Kia Picante made it. 2. The toilets close to the bamboo fenced area are all squat types. If you have arthritic knees, it will be challenging. There are sit down toilets closer to the entrance. 3. Very few mosquitoes during our stay. Mosquito coil and repellent worked well. 4. We had decent Maxis 4G reception. NO YouTube or Netflix, but emails and WhatsApp worked well most of the time including sending pictures. 5. For us in the bamboo fenced area, it is quite a distance to the carpark. Even if you have a wagon, it is challenging as you need to cross the suspension bridge, drag it up a small incline and then down the other side. Wagons with wide wheels recommended as narrow wheels will fall through the cracks on the bridge. The campsite does provide 2 wheel barrows for campers without wagons. If you have a lot of equipment, suggest to approach the caretaker for help, and tip him generously. He is very helpful. All in, we had a great weekend, even though it was raining quite often. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Went with the family and friends, and had a great time. No phone lines so no distraction which really helped us to tuned out for a few days. Place was clean and well run (including toilets :)). We will definitely come again.
